HQ TIP THE BARMAID
Nevada is a gorgeous, foundation bred, athletic mare. We started her in 2014, put in a lot of groundwork and light rides, then turned her out for most of the fall/winter. In 2015, we rode her for six months continuously and got her going nicely at the walk, trot, and canter, as well as introducing collection and lateral movement. She is responsive to seat and leg cues, soft to a snaffle or traditional hackamore, and has a good handle.
On the ground, Nevada is entirely sweet and safe to be around. She is good for the vet and farrier. She isn’t spooky or fearful. She stands quietly for grooming and mounting, takes the bit and saddle nicely, and is used to ropes, tarps, machinery, and dogs. With her excellent pedigree and ground manners, she’d make a good brood mare.
The video below is assembled from a fairly random selection of videos from a few years ago, back when Nevada was in regular work.
